Erdogan aspires to extend his term in office to Turkey and move away from the elections due to his fear that the Turkish people will not vote for him. He wants to cancel the elections, and thus he will be able to rule Turkey until his death or his resignation and abolish the republican system
Erdogan also wants from this amendment to limit the power of the Turkish opposition, and to increase the power of the Justice and Development Party in future sovereign positions, as it will be the absolute ruler in Turkey
